“Keep It Clean” Earth Day Celebration
April 22, 2005

Global Kids Film Festival in conjunction with the City of Los Angeles Cultural Affairs Department hosts the “Keep It Clean” Earth Day Celebration.

Students from area middle schools will meet at Crenshaw High School for a fun filled day of environmental education and hands on learning experiences.  Kids will take it to the streets armed with garbage bags and protective gloves to pick up litter and clean up the local community.

After returning to campus for a picnic lunch, kids will be treated to a celebration of music and dance by Balandugu Kan – a traditional drum and dance ensemble from Guinea, West Africa.

A scavenger hunt and planting workshop will be included in the day’s activities.  Short films with environmental themes from around the globe will be screened.  Students from the Digital Imaging Academy and Crenshaw High School Media Lab will document the day’s events.
